Mental Health Day at the Capitol

February 7, 2020

Georgia's Behavioral Health Services Coalition joined with behavioral health peers and allies at the Georgia State Capitol to advocate for more high quality, evidence-based, culturally-sensitive behavioral health supports, services, and treatments for all Georgians.

We spent the morning hearing from Georgia’s mental health peers and leaders, and learned about the opportunities and challenges facing us in 2020. We then moved to the Capitol, where we met with our elected officials to share our hopes and voice our concerns for Georgia's future. If you were unable to join us in 2020, please plan to join us in 2021.

The Behavioral Health Services Coalition is a public/private mental health collaboration of individuals and organizations across Georgia which educates and shares information among our members, the public, and policy-makers; and, coordinates advocacy. We believe the mental health of all Georgians is assured by the enhancement of protective factors, the reduction of risk factors, and early intervention at the first sign of symptoms. All Georgians who need mental health care benefit from high quality, evidence-based, culturally-sensitive supports, services, and treatment.
