Legislative Update:  For Week Ending February 12, 2010




Days 14 - 17 of the Legislative Session

The House passed out the 2010 Budget without any changes to mental health dollars.

Bills to watch:

HB 339 - Sponsor:  Representative Pat Gardner
Mental Health:  Competent adult to control either directly or indirectly his/her mental health care decisions

HB 544 - Sponsor:  Representative Wendell Willard
Records and hearings:  Sharing of confidential information

HB 1144 - Sponsor:  Representative Mary Margaret Oliver
Juvenile proceedings:  detention

HB 882 - Sponsor:  Representative Mike Jacobs
Public Schools:  BULLYING

SB 304 - Sponsor:  Senator Renee Unterman
Offenses:  Mandate a minimum age for the prosecution of prostitution offenses

SB 395 - Sponsor:  Senator Renee Unterman
Courts:  Create mental health court division, provide for assignments of cases

SB 376 - Sponsor:  Senator Renee Unterman
Behavioral Health/Developmental Disabilities:  Revise provisions

SB 391- Sponsor:  Senator Renee Unterman
Proceedings:  Provide for certain children found incompetent to stand trial

The session is out Monday, February 15th and Friday, February 19th.
